Kidney Health Australia (KHA) is the peak body for kidney disease providing a diverse range of support programs and services for the kidney community including Helpline, Big Red Kidney Bus, Transplant Housing, Kidney Kids camp as well as a broad suite of Advocacy, Research and Primary Care Education programs and initiatives with a national presence.
About the Department:
This is your opportunity to lead Philanthropy for KHA which is a key component within the Fundraising mix that includes Individual Giving, Community Fundraising and Events, Major Donors, Bequests, Corporate and Government. In close collaboration with the CEO and other members of the fundraising team, you will nurture our strategic funding relationships to increase support towards all key Philanthropic and Major Donor programs, services and initiatives for Kidney Health Australia.
About the Role:
The primary purpose of this dual-focused role is to lead and implement the Philanthropy Program fundraising portfolios for Kidney Health Australia (KHA) to achieve fundraising targets. This position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding Trusts and Foundations and Major Donors to ensure there is a strong base of ongoing and sustainable financial support for KHA’s programs and services.
What you will bring:
- Existing network of contacts within the Australian philanthropic sector.
- Proven experience in relationship-building and management skills, including the ability to identify, prospect and nurture all engagement with high levels of professional integrity
- Experience in either major gift fundraising and capability to ask for high value gifts or managing high net worth individuals
- Identification , cultivation and stewardship of philanthropic Trusts and Foundations (including Trustees)
- Ability to develop and deliver strategic initiative within agreed budgets
- Financial results, delivery and budget management experience within a not for profit environment and a strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape in Australia
- Develop cases for support to fund Kidney Health Australia’s programs and services, ensuring they align with specific Trusts and Foundation criteria\
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving and reporting skills with firm decision making abilities
- Demonstrated ability to research, develop and write funding proposals, communications and reports to secure support funding·
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office applications and database applications
- Knowledge and experience of Not-for-profit and charity environment, in particular in the health sector
