Make a Difference in Community Education

Are you passionate about empowering First Nations communities through culturally safe and inclusive education? Kiama and Shoalhaven Community College (K&SCC) is seeking a First Nations Community Engagement Assistant (FNCEA) to support our work in building strong, respectful, and impactful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the Shoalhaven, Kiama, and Illawarra regions.

About the Role

In this role, you will work alongside our First Nations Community Engagement Officer to:

• Strengthen partnerships with local Aboriginal organisations and Elders.
• Support the design and promotion of culturally appropriate education and training programs.
• Provide mentorship and holistic support to First Nations students.
• Promote cultural awareness and inclusion across the College.
• Support the implementation of “Closing the Gap” reforms by ensuring community voices shape our services.

What You’ll Bring

• Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
• Strong knowledge of local Aboriginal culture and history.
• Experience in community engagement, education, or employment pathways.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to cultural safety and inclusive practices.
• Current driver’s licence, Working with Children Check, and Police Check.
