About the Role:

The Recruitment and Support Officer at Karla Kuliny plays a vital role within the Community Foster Care Program and reports to the CEO. Responsible for end-to-end recruitment processes, this role involves developing marketing materials for advertising roles, coordinating interviews, ensuring compliance, and overseeing onboarding for new foster carers.

In addition to recruitment, the Officer supports carers by organising sessions, assessments, and post-accreditation training. Engaging with the community, this role serves as a key contact for enquiries, coordinating promotional activities, and nurturing relationships within the broader community.

This pivotal role reflects Karla Kuliny’s commitment to cultivating a compassionate and capable community of foster carers, ensuring stable and supportive homes for children in care.

About You/Key Selection Criteria:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • An appropriate qualification and/or relevant experience such as Social Work or Psychology or previously working in a similar role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and lived experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end contemporary recruitment practices.
  • Experience in the out-of-home care, welfare, social, or community services sectors.
  • Ability to create customised media and marketing activities for Foster Care recruitment requirements.
  • Training and assessment skills, including presentation and facilitation.
  • A collaborative approach, building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • High professional and personal ethics, ensuring privacy and confidentiality rights.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, fostering both independent and collaborative work within a team structure.
  • Current driver's licence and Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Personal values consistent with the values of the organisation.
