Kara Family Violence Service is a specialist family violence service that provides crisis accommodation, transitional housing and outreach support to women and children experiencing family violence. We are undergoing growth and restructure, and seeking to hire a passionate and experienced Team Leader, to support the case management practice and development of our Specialist Family Violence Practitioners. The Team Leader will hold a small caseload and participate in the afterhours backup roster.

The position is 0.8 or 0.9 FTE or up to 68.4 hours per fortnight and based in the City of Monash at our high security refuge.

Reporting to the Operational Manager and CEO the position attracts competitive remuneration under the SCHADS Award, level dependant on experience, plus superannuation and salary packaging.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work or equivalent is essential in line with the requirements of Rec 209.
• Working with Children Check
• National Police Check (international police check if required)
• Eligibility to work in Australia
• Current unrestricted Victorian driver’s license with good driving record

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a family violence service or working with victim survivors of family violence- refuge experience preferred
• 2 years direct supervision experience
• Demonstrated understanding and experience of the issues surrounding family violence and a commitment to improving the status of women and children in the community.
• Sound knowledge of crisis intervention and experience in case management practice using creative and flexible approaches to service delivery.
