About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Program Manager is a contract role responsible for engagement, recruitment, and effective management of Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria’s volunteer programs; Stationeers, Adopt-A-Roadside and Corporate Volunteering.
Key to this role is partnership management with our funding partners, formalising and modernising processes and systems, developing and growing programs, and communicating about the great work our volunteers do. We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual who is looking for a challenge and who is comfortable working in a fluid, fast-paced and small not-for-profit.
Role and Responsibilities
- Meet deliverables required from KABV partnerships with a focus on delivering the Stationeers, Adopt a Roadside and Corporate Volunteering programs.
- Preparing project plans, quarterly and annual reports, and attending regular partner meetings.
- Monitor programs to meet budgets.
- Coordinate and communicate with key partners from rail operators and VicRoads to ensure contract deliverables are met; including but not limited to meeting with clients and volunteers, securing access permissions, and delivering contractual reporting requirements.
- Maintain program and volunteer records in the database
- Actively engage with current volunteers and recruit new, diverse volunteers.
- Grow the volunteer program to better support KABV and program objectives
- Create monthly communications content on volunteer activities for social media channels, KABV e-news and volunteer e-news.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of Volunteer Engagement policies and procedures in line with business objectives, legislative requirements and the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
- Promote an organisational culture that values volunteers and recognises the reciprocal benefits of volunteering.
- Co-ordinate and develop KABV’s corporate volunteering program (clean-ups and plantings)
- Assist in fundraising opportunities and grant writing to support programs.
- Travel as required to visit volunteer groups across Victoria
- Meet with external organisations as appropriate while travelling, including Councils, community groups etc.

What you’ll need to succeed
- Commitment to and passion for the environment and KABV’s mission and vision.
- Minimum 5 years program and project management
- Experience managing volunteers
- Ability to create a friendly, welcoming and engaging environment for our volunteer community.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing/communications, sustainability, education, project management or extensive practical experience.
- Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Strong written communication skills with experience in report writing and developing content for communication channels/social media/e-news.
- Ability and confidence in liaising with the media and public speaking.
- Well-developed organisational, planning and coordination skills with demonstrated experience in project management.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment and risk assessment procedures and requirements;
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency with computers including MS Office and Excel
- Database experience
- Possess a pro-active, outgoing, positive and can-do attitude.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Ability to travel within Victoria, including overnights.
- Valid full drivers’ license and own vehicle
- Obtain a Working with Children Check.
Reports to:
KABV CEO and program partners.
Responsible for:
Volunteers (currently (1,300 active) and interns as needed.
Location of work duties
This is a flexible hybrid role with the team working 1-2 days in our office and 3 days working from home.
Travel within Victoria is required.
Remuneration
This is an initial 6 month contract role with hope to extend to a 3 year contract depending on funding outcomes, estimated at 30-38 hours a week at $45 per hour.
