About the Role:

In this newly created role, the Grants Development Officer plays a pivotal role in driving income growth through high-quality funding submissions. You will be responsible for researching, writing and coordinating compelling grant applications and tenders that align with MCM’s strategic goals and service priorities. Collaborating with colleagues across our divisions, you will translate complex programs into clear, persuasive cases for support.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Funding Strategy & Pipeline Development: Identify and assess grant opportunities across government, philanthropic and corporate sectors; build and maintain a strong grants pipeline
  • Grant Writing & Coordination: Prepare high-quality proposals and tenders that communicate MCM’s impact, innovation, and alignment with funder priorities
  • Collaboration & Insight Gathering: Work with internal stakeholders to access program data, case studies, and strategic insights for submissions
  • Project Management & Compliance: Track deadlines, reporting milestones, and compliance requirements for all grant activity
  • Stewardship & Reporting: Support acquittals, reporting and funder engagement to maintain and grow MCM’s funder relationships

About You:

You are a purpose-driven communicator with a strategic mindset and a collaborative approach. You will be a self-starter, be methodical, display curiosity and be professional. You bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience in grant writing, research, or tender coordination
  • Proven success securing grants from philanthropic or government bodies
  • Exceptional written communication and storytelling skills
  • Strong research, analytical, and project coordination abilities
  • A passion for social impact and the ability to engage stakeholders across varied teams
  • Familiarity with CRMs, grant databases and digital collaboration tools (desirable)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, communications, or social sciences (desirable)
