The Organisation

Our client is a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation in the training and education sector. Their role is to strengthen industry leadership and engagement across Australia, through delivering outcomes that identify skills needs and the development and delivery of training packages.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, in this position you will manage a small team overseeing the timely and accurate financial and management reporting of the organisation and work closely with other managers and stakeholders to understand and support business requirements.

Key elements of the role require you to:

  • Undertake Board reporting requirements providing evidence-based commentary and analysis.
  • Have a level of expertise in the use of financial management systems with an ability to research and analyse financial data for reporting purposes, budget and cashflow forecasting and planning, and meet audit requirements.
  • Oversee daily transaction processing including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and timely end-of-month requirements.
  • Develop, monitor, and review budgets and forecasts against targets and milestones and provide evidence-based recommendations to support effective decision-making.

The Person

To be considered for this great opportunity, it is essential you have:

  • A relevant degree level qualification in finance with CPA or CA qualification.
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a Finance Manager.
  • Strong experience in team management and development.
  • Highly developed computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • Have an understanding of financial management legislation and strategies that meet compliance requirements and mitigate risk management.
  • Not-for-profit experience would be an advantage.
