Position Snapshot

  • Salary range - $97,377.28 - $101,783.76 Level 5 SCHADS Award 2010 + Superannuation (pay point dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Full time (1.0 FTE) ongoing position – working Monday to Friday
  • The position is a prison-based location in Loddon and Middleton
  • The position does require the incumbent to travel to regional Victoria as part of the service delivery objectives.
  • Generous not-for-profit salary packaging with employee benefits such as annual leave loading of 17.5% is available

Position overview

The ReLink program is a component of the Corrections Victoria Reintegration Pathway (CVRP) and helps individuals in prison prepare for their release and transition into the community.

Working within both the Loddon and Middleton Prisons you will support clients with diverse and complex needs nearing their exit from prison as well as plan and facilitate small group and individual sessions designed to support participants’ reintegration. An ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships coupled with timely recording of data will be essential to your success in this role. Vacro clients include Serious Violent or Sex Offender (SVoSO) prisoners and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in prison.

The successful candidate must be able to provide birth certificate or passport for prison clearance purposes.

About You

This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working effectively with people involved in the criminal justice system and a strong understanding and empathy for the challenges facing individuals as they transition from custody to the community.

  • Significant case management experience with complex clients particularly those who have been in contact with the criminal justice system

  • Group facilitation skills

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills; and stakeholder management.

  • An understanding of risk management and the capacity to assess for risk and respond appropriately.

  • Good practice frameworks and strong relational and interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of working within a compliance framework

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or other relevant fields is highly desirable or significant community services sector experience

  • Excellent case planning and management skills.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Sound level of MS Office, Client Management Systems and internet capability.

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
