 About the role

Jewish Care Victoria has vacancies for Permanent Part-Time Chefs at our Residential Aged Care facility Windsor. In this role you will assist with the preparation of meals, maintaining the dining rooms and serving the residents in a respectful and collaborative environment. You will be joining a supportive dynamic team with a strong focus providing outstanding service. 

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) and Food Handlers Certificate
  • Previous experience as a Chef, preferably in the health care sector
  • Experience ensuring all staff in the kitchen maintain safe food handling practices
  • Experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, special diet preparation and staff management
  • Sound prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in monitoring and developing staff including “on the job” coaching
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources efficiently, stock control, periodic maintenance schedules and maintenance of food services equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ‘can do’ attitude 
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems
