The Role

We are on the lookout for a motivated and client-focused Senior Occupational Therapist to join our friendly team on a part-time basis.

Location: Allowah, Dundas Valley

Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time, 22.8 hrs (3 x 7.6 hour days per week, with potential to increase days as the role grows). Usual days and hours to be negotiated but must include Wednesdays.

Remuneration: Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 Level 3 or 4, from $45.00-$60.00 per hour (dependent on experience) + salary packaging options available.

Here, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Help shape and grow our Occupational Therapy service focused on children and young adults with disability
  • Provide family and person-centred clinical care to clients and their families/carers
  • Manage interventions for novel or complex occupational therapy tasks
  • Implement, monitor and evaluate therapy plans, protocols and standards to ensure best practice
  • Supervise occupational therapists, allied health assistants and students
  • Engage in professional development
  • Provide flexible service locations to suit clients- on-site at Allowah or in the community

Skills we’re looking for!

  • Communication: Written and verbal, to communicate across diverse groups
  • Teamwork: Connect and build rapport with clients, families, management and staff at all levels
  • Flexibility: Be able to deliver services at times and places and in ways that work best for clients and their families
  • Reliability: Demonstrated through a strong worth ethic, meeting commitments and deadlines
  • Empathy: Providing trauma-informed care that puts the client at the heart of what you do

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate clinical experience in Occupational Therapy
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Computer literacy including using cloud-based software

If successful, the appointed applicant will need to obtain:

  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Workers Check
  • Police Check
  • Department of Communities & Justice Check

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with children and young adults with complex disabilities and people in complex social situations
  • Experience in service development
  • Experience in providing Clinical Supervision and the supervision of Level 1 and 2 Allied Health Professionals, Allied Health Assistants and/or students.
  • Experience providing assessments and recommendations for adaptive equipment and environment modifications
