Overview

The Community Fundraising Coordinator VIC/TAS is a forward-facing relationship management role responsible for growing the fundraising capacity of JDRF through engagement with the T1D community and other key stakeholders via JDRF’s portfolio of fundraising events and campaigns.

You will report to the National Manager Community Fundraising and work closely in collaboration with other members of the fundraising team, and JDRF colleagues, to cultivate and nurture relationships (across borders) that ultimately create opportunities to mobilise the JDRF community to fundraise.

You will be responsible for delivering on local and national campaigns and program KPIs within budget.

Your key accountabilities will be:

You will be measured by your accountability and successful delivery of our operating plan and current 5-year strategy, which includes, and is not limited to -

  • Engaging and mobilising JDRF key stakeholders to leverage personal and professional relationships and networks to raise funds. Key stakeholders can include people living with type 1 diabetes and their families, volunteers, and the VIC State Leadership Group.
  • Optimising local opportunities and initiatives that enable supporters’ passion and commitment to translate to revenue and increased awareness of JDRF.
  • Providing supporters with essential administrative support and delivering excellence in internal and external customer service and responsiveness. You will effectively use the functionality of JDRF’s database to manage donor data and action reports to exceed supporter expectations in an effective, timely, respectful, and sensitive manner.
  • Recruiting and coordinating community fundraisers, donors and volunteers to participate in JDRF’s portfolio of fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with the national fundraising team to sustain and grow JDRF’s relationships and portfolio of events, programs, and campaigns within Victoria and Tasmania.
  • Contributing to the wider success of JDRF by living the values as outlined in our Core Expectations.

You should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the not-for-profit sector with a focus on relationship fundraising
  • A strong EQ and ability to connect with all types of people
  • A commitment to achieving the goals and mission of JDRF
  • A focus on finding solutions, not excuses
  • A strong ability to reach outcomes through a positive, team-oriented, can-do attitude
  • Effective time management to meet multiple timelines, and show enthusiasm, persistence, and tenacity
  • Strong database skills (preferably Salesforce), together with the ability to learn
