We are seeking a Full Time NDIS Support Coordinator to work with our Disability Services Team.

In this role you will work as part of a small team to assist participants with all aspects of their NDIS plan-coordination, implementation and review. The role also works within a community context to ensure members of the Jewish community have access to a range of supports.

You will need to be highly adaptable, creative, easy going and an excellent communicator. You will apply your enthusiasm, positivity and empathy as you work with people and their families to imagine and build better lives for people with disabilities.

The role includes facilitating conversations about what is possible with a participant's NDIS plan, building capacity for participants to exercise choice and control, supporting participants to navigate the NDIS marketplace and find providers that are the best option for them. You will work inclusively with participants, their families and carers to enhance the participant's ability to achieve their goals.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Allied Health or Nursing, a minimum of a Diploma of Community Services;
  • Recent experience of working within NDIS environment including pre planning, planned and unplanned reviews;
  • Proven experience in providing expert advice and consultation to NDIS participants and their families on the changing NDIS environment;
  • Strong knowledge of the NDIS and Quality and Safeguards;
  • Experience in supporting people with a range of disabilities including intellectual/developmental disability and be passionate about enabling people with disabilities to live a fulfilling and inclusive life;
  • Ability to build NDIS participant and family capacity to understand and navigate service systems;
  • Recent experience in using client management systems and proven ability to assess client support needs clinically and holistically;
  • Superior verbal and written communication and the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within tight time frames and be able to work in a dynamic environment and coordinate a number of activities at one time;
  • Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to mediate difficult situations and crises with clients, carers and service providers;
  • Be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Knowledge of external services provided by the wider community;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture;
  • Current drivers license.
