Our Communities program is all about community, family, and individual engagement, including family, parent and school-based individual supports, playgroups, and community development. We genuinely know the challenges of working within the educational ecosystem and will support you to provide social and emotional support for children and families, whilst working within Education Queensland systems and structures.

The position is a part time fixed term contact in school terms. Remuneration is at a SCHCADS Level 3 (Social and Community Services Pay Scales). There is opportunity to increase your income through inclusion in our salary packaging program.
Jabiru has multiple positions available and are seeking people who would like to join the organisation in the role as Student Wellbeing Officer. We have multiple schools available – please indicate your preference in your application. Each school requires 2 days between the hours of 9-3pm

This role is designed to support children in school who have been identified as requiring additional emotional and behavioural support to support inclusive practices across a variety of areas within school.
The role of a Student Wellbeing Officer definitions is to provide the general wellbeing of students and the school community. The role will reflect the specific needs of the students attending the school. Activities provided by the student wellbeing officer are at the discretion of the school principal, with the support of the school community.
Student Wellbeing Officers must be able to provide support for a range of day-to-day matters affecting the school community and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
While recognising that an individual worker may respond to questions and, in good faith, express views and articulate values consistent with their own beliefs, the Student Wellbeing Officer must not take advantage of their position to proselytise definitions, evangelise definitions, advocate for or denigrate a particular faith or worldview.
