What we do:

The Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) is a member-based not-for-profit industry council and certified social enterprise. As the peak body for advancing sustainability outcomes in infrastructure, our purpose is to ensure all infrastructure delivers social, cultural, environmental, and economic benefits. The principal means by which the ISC advances sustainability outcomes in infrastructure is through the development and facilitation of the Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) Rating Scheme. The IS Rating Scheme is an industry-compiled, voluntary, sustainability performance framework evaluating the planning, design, construction, and operation of all infrastructure asset classes.

Reports To: Head of Learning & Capability

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Hours of Work: 38 hours per week

Location: Australia – Sydney Head Office, flexible work arrangements available

About the Role

This role is to support the Learning and Development business unit within the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC).

As Sustainability Learning Partner with the Infrastructure Sustainability Council, you will be part of a small team and report to the Head of Learning & Capability. This key role will lead the development of learning programs designed to upskill infrastructure professionals in the implementation and measurement of sustainability initiatives that drive outcomes across the asset lifecycle.

As the Sustainability Learning Partner, you will support the development of training plans and program curriculum, lead the development of sustainability learning content, and facilitate sustainability training workshops and webinars.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to extract learning requirements.
  • Lead the development of tailored learning solutions that align with project or organisational sustainability strategies. Develop engaging learner and trainer resources on agreed sustainability topics.
  • Staying current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sustainability.
  • Incorporate case studies, real-world examples, and simulations to enhance learning.
  • Quality assurance of training programs and materials in accordance with ISC technical content and design requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather feedback and insights.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • A deep understanding of sustainability principles, including environmental, social, and economic aspects. This includes awareness of sustainability frameworks, standards and current trends in sustainability practices.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure sustainability concepts, processes, and technologies.
  • Team player and skilled in stakeholder engagement to extract requirements and elicit understanding of technical content.
  • Proficient with technology. There is a learner experience aspect to this role. You must be very comfortable managing Zoom/Team meetings, screen sharing, using Miro and other technologies to design engaging experiences with learners.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to apply adult learning theory and instructional design principles in the development of learning & engagement resources.
  • Qualification or relevant experience in Education, corporate learning or sustainability.
