About the Role

A homecare employee is to help and assist customers to maintain their independence and quality of life while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. IRT have multiple permanent part time positions for entry-level and experienced home care workers available.

We are looking for kind-hearted and empathetic home care employees in the Illawarra and surrounding areas that will provide support to our IRT home care customers by ensuring they receive personalised care that is tailored to promote their well-being, empower independence and engagement in preferred activities that are aligned with their health, happiness and interests.

Some duties may include:

  • Domestic assistance / light housework ( Cleaning, Laundry etc)
  • Personal care
  • Assistance to continue to live well and positively (e.g. transport to appointments, help at home)
  • Engaging in social activities

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Driver's licence and a fully insured car
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR ( or willing to obtain)
  • Willingness to obtain flu vaccination
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Resilience and ability to work independently
  • You're available to work at least 3 days on weekdays
  • A big heart, empathy and a passion for supporting older Australians to live their best life
