Ironbark Sustainability is hiring! We are currently looking for 3 people to join our Smart Lighting Team, 1 to join our Climate Team and 1 to join our Corporate Services Team.

We’re looking for a Lighting Program Project Officer to join our growing Smart Lighting Team. We’re seeking someone who wants to use their experience and expertise to make a difference. The Project Officer will be responsible for supporting project managers and Ironbark’s council clients through the process of implementing energy efficient upgrades of street lights as well as a range of other project types relating to sustainable public lighting and energy efficiency.

Our team have delivered projects that will save over 4 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and return $500m+ to councils who will spend this to the benefit of their communities.

The Project Officer will work within our team of 20-25 in the Smart Lighting Program and 40 organisation-wide. We’re seeking someone who is personable and will work well in a leading team of technical specialists and local government professionals who have one key aim: to help councils and their communities achieve real action on climate change.

The Project Officer will be located in Melbourne (Collingwood) but remote or flexible working arrangements will be considered.

ABOUT YOU!

Ironbark Sustainability's Energy Efficient Smart Lighting Program is looking for someone with:

  • Skills in managing time setting priorities, planning and organising your own work
  • Experience in dealing with customers/third parties in a professional manner via mail, phone and in person
  • Proven computer skills are essential including the use of email, electronic calendars and project management tools, demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft environments especially Excel and Word. Working experience in the use of GIS software is desirable
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed writing skills

WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN YOU JOIN OUR TEAM?

Firstly, you’ll be welcomed into the fold and we’ll bring you up to speed with the kind of work we do! Ideally, you’ll have already undertaken some research to understand how we deliver real action on climate and work with local government throughout Australia.

You will then be responsible for:

  • Managing and conducting field, quality and depot audits for street lighting bulk change projects including reporting outcomes.
  • Providing day to day support to street lighting project managers (assistance with reporting, communications to clients and contractors etc.)
  • Managing lighting level assessment projects including site visits, data analysis and reporting with oversight from senior project managers.
