Inside Out Recovery is seeking qualified contractors for a variety of support work working with people with complex mental health challenges who live in hoarded and/or squalid environments and who may be at risk of homelessness and other adverse situations.

We are a specialist intervention service for people living in hoarded and/or squalid environments providing a wrap around model of support based in research.

These are contract positions and you will need your own ABN and insurance cover.

These positions cover the following areas: Sydney, Illawarra, Nowra and Goulburn.

If you have a passion for supporting people, at least 2 years sector experience, wanting to increase your skills and knowledge working with complex mental health presentations and would like to work for an ethical organisation, that is a leader in the provision of researched based whole of person intervention for hoarding, then we encourage you to apply.

A Psychosocial Declutter Coaches provides hands on trauma informed support to people living in hoarded and or squalid environments and successful applicants will need to be able to work in these environments to do this work.

  • The ability to provide support in extremely cluttered environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trauma informed practice
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a mental health support role or completing studies in a mental health education course.
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Well-developed problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of hoarding and its impact on people
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements and practice
  • Ability to develop goals and work towards achieving them
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and build rapport with very vulnerable people
  • Ability to work from a whole of family approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate case notes and records
  • Commitment to travel up to 1 hour from your place of residence
  • Class C licence and a fully comprehensive insured vehicle
  • Current WWCC
  • Current Police Check (within last 3 years)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Orientation Module Certificate
  • NDIS COVID 19 Infection Training, Prevention and Control training module
  • Your own ABN
  • Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • 2 references
