The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated Grants, Tenders and Submissions Grants Writer to manage and lead Inner West Community Foundation’s funding submissions to philanthropic trusts, foundations, the private sector as well as government funding submissions and tenders. The position is responsible for researching and sourcing funding opportunities that are directly aligned to our organisations mission, values and strategic objectives. The position is responsible for the delivery of grant writing workshops and the auspicing of grants to our community stakeholders, as part of Local Impacts’ program of wrap-around services
The role reports to the Shared Services Manager and works collaboratively with Local Impact’s Leadership Team and staff across the organisation to grow the organisation’s revenue streams.
About You
If you are confident with all aspects of grants, tenders and submissions within a community sector setting, and you are happy to have a hands-on role as a key part of a community focused team, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for someone with:
- At least 5 years’ experience in funding submission development and a proven track record in successfully generating funding.
- Previous experience in the research and preparation of successful submissions within a not-for-profit, social sector context or equivalent
- Well-developed understanding of funder motivation and behaviour.
- The ability to deliver grant writing workshops and presentations in an engaging manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Self-directed ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a broader team of staff and volunteers
- Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills that are adaptable to the priorities of the organisation.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, including demonstrated ability to work with others across the organisation and at all levels.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
About the role
22.5 hours or 3 days / week (flexible working arrangements)
- Contribute to the development of and lead the implementation of IWCF’s funding development strategy.
- Generate new sources of funding
- Establish, develop and maintain relationships with funders and report regularly on your pipeline of prospects to the Operations Manager.
- Draft high quality grant applications, funding pitches, communication materials, reports and acquittals.
- Engage staff, partners and subject matter experts in the development of funding proposals and pitches.
- Design and deliver, grant writing workshops to our community stakeholders
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including partner organisations
- Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure scope and agreements of grants and partnerships are tracked, delivered and acquitted.
- Provide funding development advice and support to the Projects and Program Managers and CEO as required.
