Are you looking for a role where you can contribute to a vibrant team and make a difference by advocating for families in need of In Home Care? We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the recently established In Home Care Support Agency where you will play a key role in linking families with the education and care options needed to support their family. 

Support and training will be provided with this role, within the supportive and caring organisation Family Day Care Association Queensland. The Family Liaison Officer will be based in Gladstone and will play a key role in program delivery by advocating for families, brokering care arrangements and matching families to suitable In Home Care Services. 

Duties Include, but not limited to: 

  • Developing Family Management Plans which include an assessment of individual family needs and requirements against In Home Care eligibility criteria 
  • Maintain compliance in accordance with funding requirements, service policies and applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Keep up to date with sector knowledge and relevant legislations 
  • Work cooperatively as part of a team and contribute to the organisations ability to advocate for families. 
  • Maintain accurate records on the data management system. 
  • Match families to services that best meet their identified needs. 
  • Contribute to the organisations role in providing information on best practice child development. 

Selection Criteria: 

  • A strong passion or interest working with families and communities 
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills 
  • The ability to work autonomously 
  • Conflict resolution and trouble-shooting skills 
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills. 
  • Proven skills in data management and the use of Microsoft Office products including outlook and word. 
  • Qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care of equivalent qualifications in related field and/or relevant experience. 
  • Current Suitability for Child Related Employment card or eligibility to obtain one. 
  • Ability to travel and stay away from home on infrequent occasions. 
  • Be agreeable to obtaining a criminal history check.  

The program is a Federal Funded project with a 4 year term. The role is 37 hours per week and is paid under the Social, Community, Home Care Disability Services Award  Level 3.4. 

This role will report to the Queensland Team Lead and the Program Manager (based in Brisbane).
