We are recruiting for a Partnership Coordinator to manage our community development partnership in Indonesia with local women-led organisation PEKKA Lodan Doe, in the spirit of indigo foundation principles and community-led development. This is an Australia-based voluntary role.
PEKKA, translating from Bahasa Indonesia as ‘Empowerment for Women-Headed Households’ (Pemberdayaan Perempuan Kepala Keluarga), is a women-led and run organisation based in Indonesia and focused on supporting and advocating for women heads of household. indigo’s partnership is with PEKKA Lodan Doe, a network of local PEKKA collectives with a base of over 2,600 women spread across the islands of Adonara, Lembata and East Flores in Eastern Indonesia. Programs focus on food security, improving education outcomes for girls and young women from female-headed households and supporting PEKKA Lodan Doe to build its impact, capacity and sustainability. More information about the partnership is on our website here.
Strong and open relationships with our community partners are vital to our work. As Partnership Coordinator, you will be the primary contact with PEKKA Lodan Doe, responsible for the ethical, transparent and timely coordination of the partnership.

A full role description is available on request.
This is an Australia-based volunteer role with some international travel. indigo foundation is a virtual organisation with staff and volunteers throughout Australia, with hubs in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. You will work from home and the role can be based anywhere in Australia, with a preference for the candidate being based in NSW, ACT or Victoria. The role is a great opportunity to use your skills,
support the work of a fantastic women-led organisation in Indonesia and join a diverse and supportive team in Australia.
We encourage people from diverse backgrounds to apply. indigo foundation is an equal opportunity employer – we believe that diversity will make us a stronger organisation. We do not discriminate on the basis of ability, age, gender identity and expression, national origin, race and ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or criminal record.
indigo foundation is a child-safe organisation. We require all Partnership Coordinators to sign our Code of Conduct for Working with Children and Young People and to obtain a current Working with Children and Vulnerable People clearance.
For over 20 years, indigo foundation has supported grassroots organisations in some of the most marginalised communities in the world to pursue their development goals. We currently partner with 18 local organisations across eight countries.
We support local community partners to empower women and girls, improve education and health outcomes, secure better livelihoods for families and defend their human rights. We believe powerful and positive change is achieved through community control over decision-making, honest communication and building strong local organisations. We know from the evidence that community led development works to transform lives and build more resilient communities. And we recognise that achieving lasting change often requires advocacy on human rights, and communities working with government and other civil society organisations to address discrimination and gain access to rights and services. Our approach to partnership is built on respect, mutual learning and accepting that progress and setbacks are a normal part of community development.
We are a virtual organisation and are proudly nimble and creative, with committed volunteers and supporters across Australia.
