Independence Australia is looking for experienced Rostering Officer - After Hours to join our team at our West Footscray head office on casual basis.

Hours required:
This is rotating roster
- Monday: 6pm-10pm = 4 hours plus paid on-call overnight
- Tuesday: 6am – 8am, then 6pm – 10pm = 6 hours plus on call overnight.
- Wednesday: 6am- 8am, then 6pm – 10pm = 6 hours plus on call overnight.
- Thursday: 6am- 8am, then 6pm – 10pm = 6 hours plus on call overnight.
- Friday: 6am- 8am, then 6pm – 10pm = 6 hours plus on call overnight.
- Saturday: active 6am – 8am, then 3pm – 9pm = 8 hours with on-call blocks in between and overnight
- Sunday: active 6am – 8am then 3pm – 9pm = 8 hours with on-call blocks in between and overnight
- Monday: 6am – 8am = 2 hours
WORKING WITH IA
The role of a Rostering Officer – afterhours will includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Coordinate all rostering requests in a timely manner to reflect consumer requests
- Update and maintain roster changes within the system to ensure accurate information on rostering changes.
- Liaise regularly with internal stakeholders to discuss client and care worker issues, staffing resources and any issue that affects rostering.
- Handle afterhour phone calls in timely manner and provide accurate handovers to the team
- Respond promptly to Clients and staff enquiries and associated actions including redirection to Rostering Team Leader if necessary.
WORKING WITH YOU
The role of Rostering Officer - afterhours is essential within Independence Australia’s Services department. you will be a point of contact for our disability support workers, clients, and other key stakeholders for the maintenance of accurate rosters.
It is important that we build on a strong foundation of skills and experience that you have to deliver strong outcomes to the organisation.
To be successful you will bring the following:
- You have minimum of 2 years of experience in scheduling/rostering or administrative supports.
- Time management and prioritisation skills to fulfil and minimise disruption to clients schedules.
- Experience utilising rostering systems (e.g. Carelink)
- Knowledge of Disability Services and Individual Support Programs
- Auditing staff timesheets for payroll processing
- Managing staff queries regarding rosters
- Exceptional customer service, along with a friendly and confident phone manner.
- Self-motivated individual, with a pro-active approach, and the ability to work within a team and autonomously at times
- Ability to build and maintain trust and confidence of stakeholders through building rapport, consistent performance and delivering on services
- Certificate III/IV in Disability or Community Services (desirable).
- Possess valid WWCC, Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
