The Impact You Will Have in This Role

Relationship Manager – Mid Value Donors is a key position within a growing team, dedicated to strengthening relationships with a valued cohort of mid-level donors. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you will play an instrumental role in developing and delivering strategies that enhance donor engagement, increase revenue, and create clear pathways toward major gifts and bequests by connecting supporters to powerful stories of impact and transformation.

Through the creation of a robust donor journey, targeted communications, bespoke campaigns, and thoughtfully curated donor experiences and events, you will lead initiatives that deepen connection and foster long-term loyalty. Combining strategic insight, emotional intelligence, and a strong understanding of donor motivation, you will help translate generosity into enduring support for the children, adults, and families at the heart of NextSense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Philanthropy to develop and implement strategies for securing and growing income from existing and potential donors with unrealised Mid-Value potential.
  • Research and identify opportunities to cultivate new relationships and expand the Mid-Value portfolio, while nurturing existing donor relationships and re-engaging lapsed donors.
  • Implement multi-channel supporter journeys, campaigns, and events to build and maintain strong donor relationships.
  • Analyse donor data to identify opportunities for growth and uplift.
  • Manage the Life Member / Life Governor program, offering opportunities for donor engagement through events, tours, and storytelling.
  • Develop materials to support Mid-Value Donor portfolio growth, including compelling case(s) for support.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM (Raisers Edge) of donor history, contact, and activity.
  • Contribute to the development of strategy, budgets, and performance outcomes aligned with fundraising and organisational goals.
  • Report on income, expenditure, and mid-portfolio status.
  • Build strong networking relationships and stay informed on Mid-Value Donor sector trends.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in relationship and campaign fundraising (i.e mid-value, philanthropy, community fundraising, GIW) or similar.
  • Skilled in initiating donor contact, cultivating relationships, and managing gift protocols, including stewardship.
  • Ability to craft impactful supporter journeys and identify opportunities to uplift value.
  • Proven success in relationship management and business development.
  • Experienced in developing and delivering successful supporter engagement events.
  • Expertise in strategy implementation, project management, and prioritising workloads to meet KPIs in a results-driven environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail and confident in reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build trusting and positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of NextSense.
  • Current Working With Children Check and willingness to undergo a National Police Check
