About the role
This an enriching opportunity to work directly with donors across the Gifts in Wills fundraising program which has grown rapidly and experienced significant success within the past 5 years.
The Planned Giving Manager will play an important role in each donor's stewardship journey through active communication and personalised engagement, ensuring all donor interactions align with the established donor journey framework, delivering a consistent, high-quality experience that nurtures relationships and supports long-term engagement.
This is an opportunity to apply your relationship fundraising experience and strong skill set in donor cultivation to implement long term stewardship and relationship growth initiatives. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to processes across each donors journey, you will play a key role in strengthening the Gifts in Wills fundraising program and guiding donors along their journey to support life-changing health initiatives delivering improved health outcomes to rural, remote and regional communities of Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement personalised cultivation and stewardship activities to grow relationships and encourage continued support across the Gifts in Wills fundraising portfolio
- Develop engagement activities with bequestors and prospective bequestors through tailored communication, events, personal meetings and correspondence
- Prospect management, with the ability to increase the number of bequest pledges and contribute to the growth of the fundraising program
- Understand each donors reason for giving and provide a personalised cultivation experience for them, aligning their passions to give with the impact of a variety of programs
- Coordinate estate administration and provide communication and correspondence according to best practice
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess and identify cases for support to share with prospective donors
- Maintain a bequest pipeline and up-to-date donor records, ensuring a data-driven approach to the program utilising the CRM
- Report and communicate updates on project plans, revenue and expenditure forecasts
- Contribute to the development of the Gifts in Wills fundraising strategy to achieve fundraising goals
Skills and Experience
- Proven success developing and executing relationship fundraising initiatives, with the ability to strategically align processes and apply strong attention to detail to cultivate and grow tailored donor relationships, ideally with experience in similar role within a Gifts in Wills program or a relationship fundraising program
- Strong relationship fundraising experience and the desire to build trusted and long-term connections with supporters on varying levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to tailor messaging to a variety of audiences
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to establish collaborative and sustainable relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated strong professional ethics and values, acting with integrity, discretion, and a deep respect for donor intent and confidentiality
- Excellent time management, administrative and organisation skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and record and report on metrics through the CRM
- The ability to travel to rural and remote locations across Australia typically 8-10 times a year, at times for multiple days at a time to support donor engagement initiatives
