Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) translates to Doctors without Borders. They are an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare.
Their teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and programmatic support staff - bound together by their charter. Their actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality. They are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation.
The Médecins Sans Frontières Australia office was set up in 1994. Every year around two hundred Australians and New Zealanders are sent to MSF projects by Médecins Sans Frontières Australia.
This specialist position will join a team responsible for driving philanthropic revenue by building and stewarding strong relationships with individual donors and Trusts and Foundations, as well as identifying and qualifying prospective major supporters.
Managing a portfolio of major supporters, you will oversee end-to-end relationship management, including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and associated reporting and administration.
Your role will also have dual responsibility to research, write and deliver high-quality funding proposals, acquittals and impact reports, for the philanthropy team to support strong major and institutional fundraising outcomes.
As a donor-facing fundraiser, you will be confident in engaging with major donors and motivated by achieving significant growth targets. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team with strong momentum. Having raised more than $26 million through philanthropy in 2025, the entire fundraising team is now building its capability to accelerate results and deliver on an ambitious six-year fundraising strategy targeting $1 billion.
