The Royal Flying Doctor Service - South Eastern Section provides lifesaving aeromedical and primary healthcare services to rural, regional, and remote communities.

Impact you will have in this role

This is an incredible career opportunity for a relationship fundraiser to support the ongoing growth of an established Major Gifts program that has grown rapidly and experienced significant success within the past 5 years. The Fundraising and Philanthropy team is collaborative, engaging, and enthused to work together to achieve goals and continuously strengthen their remarkable impact.

With a well-developed, strategic program of work ready to present to donors, and the Centenary of the Royal Flying Doctor Service on the horizon, this is a rare and exciting opportunity make an impact on a portfolio with thriving potential for growth. You'll have the chance to engage a growing base of High Net Worth donors, backed by a strong pipeline of warm leads generated through a major event.

Key Responsibilities

  • Nurture and grow flourishing relationships with a portfolio of major donors
  • Proactively prospect, and cultivate relationships with new and potential high-net-worth supporters
  • Develop and nurture donors on their giving journey to further engage existing major donors and attract prospects
  • Develop tailored proposals and donor strategies to suit individual needs and programs
  • Grow and develop long term and long-lasting relationships with donors, increasing their level of giving
  • Manage gift solicitation conversations and collaborate with internal teams to facilitate meetings with major donors
  • Coordinate phone calls, letters, in-person events and tours
  • Work with the internal and external stakeholders to collaborate with donor engagement across all programs

Skills and Experience

  • Proven success in a similar role, with success building a pipeline of donors, and identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donor relationships
  • A donor-centric approach, and success in taking donors on a personal giving journey
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills with success in building and cultivating long-lasting relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and work with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
  • Confidence and to engage with supporters in person, over the phone and with highly developed written communication
  • Extremely organised with the ability to multitask, and prioritise
  • Pro-active and highly motivated self-starter, able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • A valid driver’s licence with the ability to travel to remote locations where vital programs are delivered
  • A commitment and passion for the mission, vision and values of the Royal Flying Doctor Service
