The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation funding world-class breast cancer research towards our vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

Since NBCF’s inception in 1994, they have invested over $200 million into more than 600 world-class research projects across Australia.
In this time, the death rate from breast cancer in Australia has reduced by over 40%. They have seen remarkable results, but the job’s not done.

Impact you will have in this role

We are searching for a relationship builder with proven success identifying and cultivating meaningful relationships with prospective and new corporate partners. The impact in the growth of new partnership opportunities will support NBCF’s bold 5-year Pink Horizon research strategy, to enable and accelerate the innovative research needed to end deaths from breast cancer.

As the Partnerships Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth by identifying, shaping, and securing new innovative, high-impact partnerships. You will be responsible for unlocking new opportunities and cultivating high value long-term partnership outcomes that align with NBCF’s bold strategic vision and ambitious growth targets. Your work will be instrumental in generating sustainable funding that fuels transformative outcomes.

Reporting to the General Manager, Philanthropy and Partnerships, this is an exciting opportunity to drive the growth in new partner contributions on world-class research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, drive and implement strategic plans and activities that focus on new and innovative ways to grow significant partnership revenue for new partners and create multi-year corporate partnership opportunities.
  • Initiate and lead significant new business opportunities, and stay up to date with the evolving external landscape to identify and leverage emerging partnership models and impactful partnership opportunities.
  • Develop tailored partnership proposals and presentations based on shared value, brand alignment, and measurable outcomes.
  • Negotiate terms and contracts to secure sustainable, multi-year partnerships.
  • Monitor corporate giving trends, CSR initiatives, and shared value partnership models to inform NBCF’s approach to new business partnerships.
  • Contribute to team strategy and planning, including setting prospecting priorities and refining value propositions.
  • Champion an exceptional partner experience throughout the entire partnership lifecycle, ensuring consistent, high-quality engagement and delivery.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the wider team to maximise opportunities and to ensure the best partner experience at every stage of their journey.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to inform decision-making, while tracking, monitoring and communicating progress across pipeline delivery and targets.
  • Provide a high-touch commitment to every prospect and partner throughout the development of their journey and onboarding experience

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a like-minded role, with proven success identifying, creating and growing new partnership opportunities that result in commercial outcomes.
  • Success in building a pipeline with strong strategic research, pitch, and presentation skills with the ability to develop innovative and financially impactful multi-year partnership concepts.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to strategically identify untapped opportunities, identifying shared value, with the ability to consistently secure high valued partnership outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in order to effectively communicate to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong pitching, presenting and negotiation skills, with the ability to present tailored value propositions.
  • Developed project management skills, including demonstrated ability to plan, implement, review and achieve project goals and objectives.
  • A collaborative manner, with the ability to work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to track and communicate progress and projected outcomes.
  • A commitment to support NBCF’s bold 5-year research strategy, fuelling groundbreaking research to progress towards a future of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.
