The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation funding world-class breast cancer research towards our vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

Since NBCF’s inception in 1994, they have invested over $200 million into more than 600 world-class research projects across Australia.
In this time, the death rate from breast cancer in Australia has reduced by over 40%. They have seen remarkable results, but the job’s not done.

Impact you will have in this role

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented, and inspiring partnerships leader to drive the strategic growth, development, and diversification of an established partnerships portfolio. Your strategic efforts will directly support NBCF’s bold 5-year Pink Horizon research strategy, to enable and accelerate the innovative research needed to end deaths from breast cancer.

As the National Partnerships Manager, you will lead and empower a team of two Partnerships Managers and a Partnerships Coordinator, working closely with existing partners to maximise value, unlock new opportunities, and cultivate innovative, long-term partnerships. These efforts will be key to delivering significant, sustainable funding aligned with bold strategic objectives and ambitious growth targets.

Reporting to the General Manager, Philanthropy and Partnerships, this is a unique opportunity to bring strategic vision, creativity, and innovation to amplify each partners contribution on world-class research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partnerships strategy focused on the retention, diversification, and growth of current corporate partners, aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Foster strong, professional, and value-driven relationships with corporate partners to ensure continued engagement, renewal, and the optimisation of mutually beneficial opportunities.
  • Identify and cultivate shared-value initiatives that align with partner priorities, driving increased fundraising outcomes and supporting the evolution of partnerships across short- and long-term strategic goals.
  • Champion an exceptional partner experience throughout the entire partnership lifecycle, ensuring consistent, high-quality engagement and delivery.
  • Lead and motivate a team of three to deliver partnership outcomes aligned with the partnership strategy, contractual agreements, process, budgets, timelines and goals.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the wider team to maximise opportunities and to ensure the best partner experience at every stage of their journey.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to inform decision-making, while tracking and monitoring progress, managing contract details, and providing accurate reporting and forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Provide a high-touch commitment to every partner throughout the development of their donor journey.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a similar role, with proven success growing and diversifying the financial impact of corporate partnerships.
  • Proven success leading, developing and implementing strategic partnership initiatives that have resulted in the growth of individual partnership relationships and a wider partnerships program.
  • Leadership experience with an open, positive, and empowering management style, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and team collaboration.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to strategically identify untapped opportunities across partnership engagement, with the ability to consistently secure evolving high valued partnership outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in order to effectively communicate to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to plan, implement, review and achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Ability to strategically innovate, design and implement strategies to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Strong budget management experience with the ability to apply analytical thinking and to make data driven decisions.
  • The ability to travel when needed to meet with partners.
  • A commitment to support NBCF’s bold 5-year research strategy, fuelling groundbreaking research to progress towards a future of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.
