The Impact You Will Have in This Role

As Gifts in Wills Manager, you will lead the growth of Taronga’s legacy giving program by designing and delivering integrated strategies that drive acquisition, increase engagement, and long-term revenue.

This role combines high-level planning with hands-on relationship management, overseeing the full bequest journey from acquisition and cultivation through to estate administration. With a data-informed approach and multi-channel communications, you'll play a critical role in securing gifts that support Taronga’s mission for generations to come.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the Taronga’s Gifts in Wills strategy with a focus on pipeline growth and supporter stewardship.
  • Manage personalised donor journeys across mail, digital, events, phone, and one-to-one engagement.
  • Oversee estate management with care, professionalism, and empathy.
  • Collaborate across broader organisation to integrate legacy messaging across campaigns and supporter pathways.
  • Create and deliver engaging and emotionally resonant content and collateral to promote legacy giving.
  • Build meaningful relationships with supporters and prospects, engaging through phone calls, written communication, and hosted events.
  • Maintain accurate data and reporting using the CRM system, with a data-led approach to performance and strategy.
  • Represent Taronga at donor events and community opportunities to grow visibility and deepen engagement.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in relationship fundraising and/or Individual Giving.
  • The ability to develop and lead multi-channel donor communication plans that blend both marketing and a personalised relationship-focused engagement activities.
  • An understanding of the donor journey and experience in creating stewardship plans and activities that attract, engage, and maintain donor engagement and commitment.
  • Understanding of fundraising best-practice, supporter-centric methodology and key metrics.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a warm, empathetic communication style
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A data-led approach to fundraising with the ability to use your data skills to drive both acquisition and retention strategies and report back on performance and key metrics using the CRM (Salesforce) to record all donor information and communication.
  • The ability to manage estate administration and manage effective and professional communication with legal entities.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, with strong communication and with impeccable personal ethical standards.
  • A genuine passion for wildlife, conservation, and the natural world.
