As a national charity, it empowers those affected through vital support services, trusted education, and strong advocacy, while driving forward groundbreaking research.

With a mission to break down stigma and end the isolation so many experience, the organisation is reshaping the conversation around endometriosis. Their work includes advocating for improved government support and specialist care, creating educational resources, funding research, and delivering programs such as the EndoAcademy Nurses Scholarship program to support regional communities. Endometriosis Australia also leads national awareness campaigns and initiatives designed to help reduce the time between symptoms and diagnosis while improving outcomes for people living with endometriosis.

Endometriosis Australia hosts a range of events and works to build partnerships to support them. Their events include Endometriosis Awareness Month initiatives such as Worldwide EndoMarch, March into Yellow, and Endo Enlightened, alongside annual High Tea events, virtual symposiums, webinars, and community engagement activities that bring together healthcare professionals, advocates, supporters, and people with lived experience.

Impact you will have in this role

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to deliver fundraising actives across all the core areas of fundraising. Reporting into and working closely with the General Manager (and in collaboration with the board and committees when required), this role is designed to deliver end to end on campaigns and supporter activities whilst helping strengthen the systems and processes in place.

This is a hands-on role, working across community fundraising, appeals, individual giving, partnerships and philanthropic opportunities, supporting the full cycle from set-up and planning, through to execution, follow-up and reporting. As well as this, you will be responsible for working on the many fantastic events hosted throughout the year and building and strengthening key relationships with major donors through regular phone and face-to-face engagement.

As the Fundraising Specialist, you will assist with delivering on the Fundraising Strategy, turning priorities into practical fundraising activity. You will be confident working with evolving information, identifying next steps, and proactively driving tasks forward, as well as seeking new opportunities to enhance the supporter experience and improve results over time. This role is great for someone who is high-achieving, solutions-focussed, keen to learn and driven to get results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver fundraising activities across community fundraising, appeals/individual giving, and partnerships, with support from the General Manager.
  • Coordinate timelines, briefs, suppliers, and logistics to ensure campaigns and fundraising activities run smoothly.
  • Build key relationships with major donors through continued face-to-face and telephone communication.
  • Foster donor and supporter engagement through updates, emails, materials, and follow-up communication to ensure the supporters feel valued and informed.
  • Support fundraising campaigns from set up to post campaign wrap up, including appeals, community events, and digital initiatives.
  • Assist community and DIY fundraisers with guidance, resources, and timely responses to a great experience to maximise their impact.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop clear, action-oriented campaign assets and communications.
  • Coordinate philanthropic and partnership opportunities, and support applications and proposals when needed.
  • Track income and activity against targets, maintain budgets and forecasts, and identify risks and opportunities early.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with regular activity and performance reports.
  • Identify any problem areas, and provide improvements to templates, processes, and supporter journeys to strengthen existing practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering community/grassroots fundraising and stewarding supporter relationships.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong writing skills, with ability to create clear supporter communications, including emails, letters, social briefs, and impact updates.
  • Practical, proactive, and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks, take initiative, work independently, and maintain momentum while seeking clarity.
  • Adopting a collaborative working style and the confidence to work independently when required.
  • Strong attention to detail with records and data, with a keen interest to utilising insights to improve the supporter experience.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in testing ideas, learning from results, and seeking new ways to improve how Endometriosis Australia work.
  • A passion for Endometriosis Australia’s mission and alignment to their work.
