Impact of the Role

The Fundraising Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the growth of fundraising income and donor engagement for Westmead Hospital Foundation through the delivery of individual giving campaigns, community fundraising and corporate partnership initiatives.

Reporting to the General Manager, this broad and hands-on fundraising role is responsible for coordinating a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities, including appeals, regular giving, donor stewardship, community fundraising, in-kind donations and corporate partnership support.

Working collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator and wider team, you will help deliver integrated fundraising campaigns and supporter engagement initiatives that strengthen donor relationships, grow community connection and advance the organisation’s mission.

With direct mentorship from an experienced manager with strong fundraising expertise, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills while contributing to impactful fundraising outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver individual giving campaigns including tax appeals, regular giving programs, donor acquisition and stewardship initiatives.
  • Support integrated fundraising campaigns across digital, print, EDM and social media channels in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, supporters, community fundraisers and corporate partners to enhance engagement and long-term support.
  • Coordinate donor stewardship activities including acknowledgements, impact reporting, donor communications and supporter engagement initiatives.
  • Lead community fundraising activities, to grow third-party fundraising initiatives
  • Work in collaboration with the General Manager to identify & develop corporate partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and in-kind donation programs.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising campaign performance, donor engagement and fundraising outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, campaign administration and CRM/database management to support fundraising operations and reporting.
  • Represent the Foundation at community, networking and stakeholder events to promote fundraising priorities and organisational impact.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor engagement or philanthropy within the not-for-profit, healthcare, charity or community sector.
  • Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship initiatives or community fundraising activities.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to work collaboratively across fundraising, marketing or communications teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Experience using CRM/database systems and maintaining accurate donor records with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret fundraising and campaign performance data.
  • Proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach, with a genuine passion for healthcare philanthropy and community impact.
