An exciting opportunity to contribute to a more inclusive and culturally safe aged care sector through education, stakeholder engagement, and community learning.
Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) is the peak body for aged care advocacy and consists of nine state and territory members that provide free, confidential and independent information and support to older people seeking or receiving government-funded aged care as well as their families and other representatives.
OPAN works with the government to influence aged care policy through systemic advocacy. OPAN’s vision is a society where older people are heard, informed and respected and where they enjoy and exercise their human rights.
As Diversity Education Support Officer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of OPAN’s national Diversity Education Program.
You will work closely with the Senior Diversity Educator and wider team, providing essential coordination and operational support to promote and deliver inclusive training and learning initiatives. This includes engaging aged care providers, supporting Communities of Practice, and contributing to the visibility and reach of the program through national outreach.
Regular interstate travel is required to support the Planning for Diversity training sessions across the country. The role may also contribute to broader projects under the National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP).
OPAN acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first people of Australia and the sovereign Custodians of the country, and in supporting the human rights of older people recognises and respects the human rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. OPAN is an EEO employer and we value diversity within our organisation.
If you’re passionate about embedding inclusion in aged care and want to play a hands-on role in national education delivery, we’d love to hear from you.
To apply, please upload your resume and a cover letter outlining your suitability and interest in the role.
