At Wesley Research Institute, you will join a purpose-driven team that is agile, curious, collaborative, and respectful, working together to transform lives through evidence-based innovation.

The Impact you will have in this role

Wesley Research Institute is currently implementing a multi-year transformation focused on strengthening its organisational infrastructure across seven key areas: resourcing, technology platforms, systems and data management, program support, constituent management, gift administration/fundraising and reporting, and data analytics.

The CRM & Data Development Manager will play a central role in this change, leading the strategic optimisation of the CRM platform, Raiser’s Edge NXT, and associated data systems. This includes driving CRM governance, data integrity, user support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure our systems are fit for purpose and future-ready.

Initially focused on platform optimisation and data quality, the role will expand to support broader insights, reporting, and system integration across fundraising, research, and clinical programs.

It’s a strategic and hands-on role that sits at the intersection of technology, data, and organisational effectiveness, ideal for a systems thinker passionate about building capacity, process and delivering impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and optimisation of Raiser’s Edge NXT to support organisational strategy across fundraising, research, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Implement strong CRM governance, ensuring data integrity, privacy compliance, and ethical standards.
  • Oversee data quality assurance, including regular audits, validation, and hygiene routines.
  • Act as the system administrator and subject matter expert, managing user roles, workflows, and documentation.
  • Deliver tailored training, user guides, and onboarding support to lift system literacy and performance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure CRM integration supports operational and strategic goals.
  • Partner with service providers to manage system enhancements and user support.
  • Contribute to organisation-wide initiatives that strengthen analytics, engagement, and decision-making.

Skills and Experience:

  • You’re a systems thinker with a passion for data integrity, stakeholder experience, and continuous improvement. You bring a blend of strategic vision and practical execution, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into real organisational value.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience managing and optimising CRM platforms (e.g. Raiser’s Edge NXT, Salesforce).
  • Expertise in data governance, privacy principles, and CRM best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage stakeholders, and build internal capability.
  • Strong ability to analyse complex data and translate it into clear, actionable insights and visualisations that drive strategic decision-making.
  • High-level organisation and project management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualisation tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
  • Experience with systems intersecting fundraising, research, or clinical operations.
  • A passion for health, medical research, and making a positive difference in people’s lives.
