The Opportunity

We are offering a rewarding Permanent Part time 0.8 EFT key leadership role within AccessHC’s Integrated Family Services (IFS) team to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. The Senior IFS Case Worker plays a dual role: providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to a team of IFS Case Workers while also managing a personal caseload. Based in Camberwell, this role plays a vital part in promoting the safety, development, and wellbeing of vulnerable children, young people, and their families.

Camcare is a program within AccessHC that provides a suite of services – wellbeing counselling and case management, material aid, support for new mums, and information and advice to residents of the City of Boroondara and surrounding suburbs. Camcare's Integrated Family Services (IFS) program works across the Municipalities of Boroondara, Manningham, Monash and Whitehorse.

What you will be doing

  • Provide in-home and outreach case management to vulnerable families
  • Conduct risk and strengths-based assessments to inform action planning
  • Develop and review Child and Family Action Plans in collaboration with families
  • Establish respectful, honest relationships that promote trust and engagement
  • Liaise with Child Protection and community agencies to support integrated care
  • Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and professional development
  • Maintain accurate client records and uphold compliance and reporting standards

What you will bring Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline/eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body such as AASW or APS
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in the Community Services Sector, with a strong focus on the Child and Family Welfare System
  • Well-developed risk assessment skills and sound understanding of the Best Interests Case Practice Framework
  • Demonstrated theoretical understanding and practical experience in both individual and systemic casework approaches
  • Experience working with families in crisis, with a capacity for active engagement and relationship-building
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005, and other relevant legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management or client information systems.

Compliance Requirements:

  • National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
