ICLEI is a global network of over 2500 cities and other subnational governments and their associations committed to building a sustainable future. ICLEI provides technical services, capacity building, networking and global advocacy opportunities, as well as cutting-edge solutions to its member and network cities and regions and their communities.

ICLEI Oceania regional secretariat is entering an exciting new phase. For more than 25 years we have been supporting councils in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific on their sustainable development journey – through connecting leaders, technical support and advocacy at national and international levels.

While this support has focussed primarily on climate change, urban nature and biodiversity, disaster risk reduction, this is now broadening to encompass all ICLEI’s development pathways, including Equitable and People-Centred Development and Circular Development. This is underpinned by the Sustainable Development Goals. With a renewed strategy and enhanced resourcing, the next 3 years will ensure that ICLEI Oceania is the premium Local Government sustainable development partner in the region to raise local ambition and shape global policy frameworks.

ICLEI Oceania is now pleased to invite an experienced and qualified individual to apply for the position of Senior Professional Officer. This position will ideally be based in Melbourne although other locations will be considered. Candidates should also have a fully Internet-connected, functional, dedicated workspace at home for times when they may be required to work remotely.
