The Role

HRI is seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Data and Analytics. You will be an essential member of the Development, Philanthropy and Communications team, developing analytics, business/scenario modelling and reporting to enable informed decision making.

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate data analytics, program reporting, business case development, real time analysis of program performance, and predictive modelling for program forecasting and budget development. You will also ensure data integrity and be the owner and internal champion of knowledge for the CRM, D365. You will also have experience in the integration of CRM systems.

You will manage a team of two experienced analysts, and collectively, you will develop and share business intelligence that will enable the broader team to drive and grow philanthropic revenue across diverse revenue streams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver comprehensive weekly/monthly/annual reporting on donor numbers and revenue, including segmented data.
  • Support the Director Development, Philanthropy and Communications and broader team with regular reporting and insights driven data to support decision making.
  • Inspire, mentor and develop a team of 2 highly experienced data analysts.
  • Conduct deep dive analysis on the donor database, identifying opportunities for growth across revenue streams.
  • Produce financial status updates to inform essential reporting including Board reporting and ARFC reporting.
  • Undertake income modelling to project the impact of strategic initiatives on revenue pipeline and performance. Identify the impact of different levels of investment and donor acquisition and retention.
  • Work with the Director Development, Philanthropy and Communications and philanthropy managers and the finance team to develop business cases for current and future program investments across the Australia and International fundraising portfolio.
  • Deliver comprehensive campaign reporting and analysis outlining performance and providing year on year comparison and effectively measuring return on investment.
  • Develop segmented data and lists to enable targeted communications and campaign activity.
  • Ensure data integrity and accurate and timely processing and coding of donations.
  • Manage the CRM and be the point of knowledge and reference for D365 queries and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the business needs and customise D365 dashboards to report on and meet business needs, enabling effective decision making.
  • Facilitate training across the team in the use of D365 ensuring the organisation is able to develop and access donor intelligence, and ensuring the team is proficient and competent in the use of D365.
  • Continuous improvement and development of D365 capabilities based on the evolving needs of the team in using D365.
  • Support with ad hoc reporting and data requests from internal stakeholders including the CEO, Board, Director Development and Philanthropy and extended Philanthropy team.
  • Work collaboratively with the HRI IT team to ensure CRM integration with other essential systems that support the business including the Finance system.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure effective budgeting, reporting and auditing processes/procedures.
  • Work with Director Development, Philanthropy and Communications and philanthropy managers and the finance team to develop annual budgets.

Core Skills

  • Commercial mindset and an analytical thinker.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage, mentor and inspire a team of business analysts.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, IT, Technology or Commerce.
  • Strong knowledge of D365 applications and features including customisation and management.
  • Strong experience in data import, export, migration within D365.
  • Strong competency in mapping out business requirements, business processes and reporting requirements to deliver strategic solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams, including technical developers, IT teams, project managers and systems users.
  • Ability to create models of income and expenditure and develop scenario analysis to drive decision making.
