About the role

CareSouth has an exciting opportunity for a Practice Lead to join the team in a full time permanent role. The location for the position is negotiable, either based in the Nowra or Illawarra office, for the successful applicant.

The key function of the Practice Lead role is to lead agreed practice uplift activities across CareSouth which are linked to our strategic goals, whilst providing leadership and mentoring to a small team of Practice Specialists.

Some activities which you could be part of include leading projects aimed at improving processes, embedding outcomes measurement in daily practice, or working with teams to innovate and extend practitioners’ knowledge on specific skill areas.

It’s a critical role, filled with purpose and one that fills your cup up, so to speak!

The successful applicant will have:

  1. Demonstrated commitment to the safety of children, young people, and people with a disability.
  2. Post graduate qualifications in relevant discipline (social work, social sciences, or other relevant area) or working towards.
  3. High level understanding of implementing evidence-based practice in the social sector.
  4. Advanced level understanding and experience working with diverse communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically, or people with a disability.
  5. Demonstrated leadership experience (at least 5 years) in child and family-based services or disability contexts.
  6. Significant experience in coaching and mentoring staff in the social sector.
  7. Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to write in a variety of formats.
  9. Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and complete projects, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  10. Current driver’s license.
  11. Willingness to undertake travel between CareSouth offices on a regular basis.
  12. Willing to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain a (NSW) Working with Children Check clearance number and/or (ACT) Working with Vulnerable People Card.
