What is your new role about?

We are searching for an experienced Heritage & Native Title Specialist to complement our high performing team. Reporting to the Heritage & Native Title Lead, the primary function is to provide specialist native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage advice and support the company to achieve desired levels of compliance and performance in line with its policy to avoid impacting on Aboriginal cultural heritage whenever and wherever possible.

This role is a full time 15 month maximum term contract, commencing November 2023. Occasional travel to regional WA may be required.

Your new role will include:

  • Deliver Aboriginal cultural heritage and native title related services and projects.
  • Provide impact assessments on Aboriginal cultural heritage and native title matters.
  • Provide advice and training to regions and corporate on Aboriginal cultural heritage and native title matters.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practice systems and processes to achieved desired outcomes and in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Our new Heritage & Native Title Specialist will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a role dealing with native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage issues.
  • Good knowledge of Aboriginal cultural heritage industry processes.
  • Familiarity with Western Australian heritage legislation and the Native Title Act.
  • Tertiary qualification in Archaeology and/or Anthropology, Cultural Studies or Law desired.
