HoMie is a Melbourne-based streetwear label and Social Enterprise. 100% of HoMie’s profits go towards achieving its mission: to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship.
Through our two key programs, HoMie supports young people affected by homelessness or hardship to equip them with skills, confidence and experiences to be more work ready and better prepared for their future.
With an impact led approach HoMie has supported over 2100 young people through our programs. We have a strong organisation wide commitment to creating positive outcomes for young people and meaningful, long lasting change.
The HoMie Pathway Alliance is HoMie’s own certified Education and Employment program. Young people work part-time on the shop floor and study a Certificate III in Business, all while receiving wrap-around support. Young people are paid to work and study, and are valued employees of HoMie.
As HoMie is uniquely positioned in both the Fashion Retail and Youth Homelessness sectors, we work closely with community service providers, retail partners and young people to create a ‘bridge’ between these networks to foster unique opportunities. This role builds strong positive relationships with stakeholders to drive our mission.
The Program Support worker will provide direct, consistent and tailored support to young people. The scope of this role is Employment and Education and includes running work readiness workshops, supporting classroom learning, organising excursions, facilitating support plans and motivating engagement.
The Program Support Workers also support the implementation of the HoMie VIP Program. The HoMie VIP Program exists to build confidence and social inclusion for young people affected by homelessness or hardship through a unique and inclusive VIP shopping experience. Your role will be coordinating with community service organisations, event planning activities and supporting young people to access self care services.
You care about social issues and young people. You're passionate about HoMie’s mission and you’ve had enough experience to know you’re a great Youth Worker. You’re excited to work in a dynamic and fast growing Social Enterprise that intercepts between the Fashion Retail and Youth Homelessness sectors. You know how to get things done and stay solutions focused in the face of a challenge.
We’re actively working towards a fairer society. And we know that the diversity of thought, identity and lived experience on our team is essential to helping us achieve this. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people with disability and applicants from all cultural backgrounds to apply. We also welcome applications from people with lived experience of homelessness.
We are hoping the successful candidate can join the team between 22nd January and 5th February 2024, however we will remain flexible and understanding of the busy holiday season. Applications will be considered as they are received.
As a values driven organisation, we want to know about you and why you are a great fit for the HoMie team. Please include a Cover Letter, Resume and separate response to the 'Key Selection Criteria' below in your application. Applications without these three elements will not be considered.
