Homelessness NSW is the peak body for homelessness in NSW. We exist to build the capability of people and the capacity of systems to end homelessness. We have a vision for a future where there is enough quality and safe housing and support services to ensure no one is homeless in NSW. We work with our members and broad network of partners to understand drivers of homelessness, advocate for solutions, build skills and knowledge, and scale innovation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Together Home Program aims to transition people onto a trajectory away from homelessness and into long-term stable housing, while improving overall personal wellbeing. It is underpinned by Housing First principles and is being delivered across NSW by Community Housing Providers, some of whom sub-contract the support component to Specialist Homelessness Services or other partners. Support providers work to coordinate and strengthen relationships between the various services involved in a person’s support plan, including disability and allied health and wellbeing supports.

Homelessness NSW is funded separately to manage and deliver Together Home High Needs packages. If a participant has a high degree of complexity, services can make a referral to the High Needs Panel for additional funding.

This is an exciting time to join us as we build on this work. Homelessness NSW are undertaking further projects to scale-up Housing First initiatives within the homelessness sector. This role will be working across both the Together Home and Housing First projects undertaken at Homelessness NSW, reporting to and working alongside the Senior Project Officer – Together Home.

A position description is attached.

Homelessness NSW acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the various lands on which we meet and work. Our team comes together on the unceded land of the Gadigal and Bidjigal people, and we pay our respects to their ancestors and Elders past & present. We extend this respect to all First Nations people in Australia, but specifically to those we work for, who have experienced homelessness and dispossession due to the ongoing effects of colonisation.
