THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Salary: $70,973 - $76,352 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + annual leave loading (dependant on qualifications and experience).
  • Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.
  • Location: Chadstone campus – travel to other campuses is required.
  • WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
  • Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
  • Position Status: Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.

The Student Engagement and Equity Department at Holmesglen is seeking to appoint a passionate and self-driven individual to join the team!

The Disability Liaison Officer will collaborate closely with faculties and students to discern learning support needs and evaluate suitable reasonable adjustments and supports for students with disability or chronic health needs. This role contributes insights to the formulation and revision of internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment of Institute practices with relevant legislation and governmental mandates.

ABOUT YOU

  • Substantial experience in community or social services, case management, assessment, and administration of community or home-based individual support.
  • Degree or equivalent qualifications in disability, community services or similar field and relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with confidentiality and privacy principles applicable in education and professional disability support sectors.
  • Understanding of educational programs such as apprenticeships, VCAL, and current issues in vocational and higher education sectors, with expertise in strategies for supporting students with disability.
  • Knowledge of relevant community organisations and community service agencies, particularly in provision of educational accommodations and adjustments and application of person centre practice, including experience in case management, intake processes, and support planning.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders, staff, and student groups.
