- Salary: $100,000 - $105,000 per annum depending on experience, plus 11 % super

Ngadju Conservation Aboriginal Corporation is a conservation and land management organisation that protects and conserves Ngadju land and culture; and provides economic opportunities and training for Ngadju youth. Ngadju lands include a large portion of the ecologically rich Great Western Woodlands. The Ngadju Rangers manage the Ngadju Indigenous Protected Area of over 4.4 million hectares.
Ngadju Conservation Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a committed professional to join our team to manage our projects and supervise trainee Ngadju Ranger Coordinators.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mentoring, supervision, support, and inspiration in the development of a cohesive Ngadju Ranger team including supervision of trainee Ngadju Ranger Coordinators
- Meaningful consultation and engagement with Ngadju and other Traditional Owners
- Management of Ngadju Ranger training with service providers
- Project management of research projects
- Build productive project partnerships with community, scientific institutions, government agencies, and other organisations
- Supervise workplace health and safety procedures and comply with the WA Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and certification standards, and continuously work to improve WH&S Ngadju Ranger procedures
- Communicate and report on program outcomes, and ensure all reporting requirements of funding contracts are met
- Communicate complex technical information to the Ngadju Rangers and the Ngadju community in a clear, concise and culturally appropriate format
- Oversee Rangers use of the NCAC database and related apps and ensure that field data is recorded
- Productive and efficient management and administration of finances, human resources, data and assets
- Work with the CEO to develop and update policies and procedures.
- Assist the CEO with governance
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary Qualifications in natural resource management, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years professional experience in natural resource management or a related discipline
- Experience and confidence in working with Indigenous communities
- Experience in managing small teams, and mentoring staff
- Demonstrated ability to manage research projects
- Understanding and knowledge of Indigenous social and cultural challenges and willingness to commit to community empowerment, training, and development
- Experience in working independently with minimal supervision and demonstrated capacity to remain focused, positive, and organised in a challenging work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex information
- Negotiation and community consultation skills including the ability to work as a member of a team
- Literacy with computer programs including Microsoft Office suite, mapping and experience coordinating a database
- Demonstrated experience in efficient administration and willingness to take responsibility for the administration of the Ngadju Ranger project
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence and experience operating 4WD vehicles
- Working with Children Check (WCC) or ability to obtain one.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Willingness to be trained as a Drug and Alcohol tester.
