As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer you will have a wide range of responsibilities, primarily around maintaining the availability, performance and security of our core platform, but also working across areas such as data pipelines and dev tooling. Further, you will have the opportunity to shape the way the organisation builds and delivers product in a manageable and maintainable way.

Priorities - the work

  • Continuous monitoring and remediation of production and build pipeline issues
  • Debugging and troubleshooting code and feeding back improvements
  • Continuously improving our monitoring and alerting systems
  • Building tooling to assist with operations and security (e.g. user access management, automated auditing)
  • Making sure the pipeline from development to production remains unblocked and efficient
  • Mentoring developers in building reliable production systems
  • Some ad-hoc platform and feature development

Skills - the person

  • Strong developer and either Node.js (also TypeScript) or .Net
  • Able to quickly read and reason about existing code and systems and make strategic improvements
  • Deep understanding networking technologies
  • Skills in running a containerised platform
  • Familiarity with AWS (although any Cloud experience is fine)
  • Strong understanding of threat models and security controls when it comes to running infrastructure on the internet
  • A structured and consistent approach to troubleshooting
  • Strong connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
  • Approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation
  • Exhibit adaptability, resilience, transparency, trustworthiness, passion and innate curiosity
