In 2019 Dr Helen Haines MP created political history by being the first Independent MP to follow another Independent MP into office following the retirement of Cathy McGowan AO. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Dr Haines MP’s team, working with Helen to bring about changes and improvements on key issues for Indi.
The Office of Dr Haines MP is serious about meaningful community engagement that brings the voices, views and values of constituents front and centre. The Community Engagement and Strategy Officer is an exciting new role designed to help us ‘do politics differently’ by working with community in both established and innovative ways.
We are seeking applicants for two part-time, 0.5 FTE roles (2.5 days p/w each negotiable) placed at each of Dr Haines MP's Wodonga and Wangaratta Electorate Offices.
The successful applicants will also be responsible for our volunteer program, and will have the opportunity to work directly with constituents to resolve their concerns.
This is a dynamic position which requires plenty of enthusiasm, a track record of successful community engagement, outstanding customer service ethos and a readiness to think outside the box. The successful applicants will have a knack at building and growing community engagement, a passion for the future of Indi and an appreciation of the work of Federal Independents in Indi including the work of the grassroots community democracy.
A position description is attached.
