Health Workforce Queensland is a not for profit, non-Government Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) for primary health workforce in Queensland, focused on making sure remote, rural, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities have access to highly skilled health professionals when and where they need them, now and into the future. This incorporated Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service has supported Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous communities in the Toowoomba, Darling Downs and South West region for over 23 years. This not-for-profit organisation provides General Practitioner (GP), Oral, Primary and Allied Health Services, with a range of Home and Community Care, Family Wellbeing, Aged Care Services, Early Numeracy and Literacy Support and NDIS services. They are responsive to the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities within the Goolburri Region and support them to exercise control of their Health and Wellbeing.
The role is based in Toowoomba. The practice is seeking a GP either experienced or new graduate, to join our busy and growing practice with an existing patient base. You will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build patient rapport and trust easily Be clinically competent in all areas of the General Practice and be a great team player.
Toowoomba is the beautiful Garden City and is the second largest inland city in the country after Canberra and is the largest town in Darling Downs. Toowoomba is conveniently located 125km west of Brisbane and is a major regional hub.
Toowoomba has a wonderful vibe with an eclectic mix of country lifestyle balanced with urban life and close to other communities within the Darling Downs Region.
