As Australia’s peak national organisation for the community HIV and LGBTIQA+ health response, Health Equity Matters supports member organisations working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities, people living with HIV, sex workers, people who use drugs, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Through advocacy, policy, and health promotion it leads Australia’s effort to end HIV transmission and promote the health of its communities.
In the Asia Pacific region, Health Equity Matters uses the same strengths to promote effective policy, strengthen local community leadership, and support communities in their work in HIV, health, and human rights.
This is an exciting new role within Health Equity Matters’ national projects team. As the Senior Project Officer – Multicultural Community Health, you will lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of culturally, linguistically, and racially marginalised communities—including people from diverse, migrant, and refugee backgrounds, as well as LGBTQ people of colour. You will achieve this through the effective support of Health Equity Matters’ member organisations.
Reporting to the Manager, HIV and Community Health Programs, you will build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders across multicultural, refugee, LGBTQ community health and migrant health services nationally, fostering collaboration and reciprocal partnerships on key health issues, primarily HIV.
You will be responsible for the creation, implementation, evaluation, and effective management of a dynamic range of HIV and community health projects.
