Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000 + Salary packaging (up to $15,900 per FBT year)

What you'll do

In this diverse and rewarding role, you'll be part of the First Nations Wellbeing & Engagement Division, working closely with the Head of Operations, First Nations Cultural Practice and Engagement, and a supportive team.

You'll focus on:

  • Connecting and supporting staff - Leading the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff Network and supporting strong engagement across the organisation.
  • Advising on workforce matters - Providing input on recruitment, development, and policy to create meaningful opportunities and a culturally safe workplace.
  • Building cultural capability - Working with People & Culture to enhance cultural awareness and ensure inclusive, respectful services for staff, young people, and families.
  • Leading communications and events - Coordinating initiatives, events and resources that promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and priorities.
  • Driving inclusion - Helping shape a workplace where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.

Who We're Looking For

This is a role for someone who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.* We're looking for someone who brings both lived experience and professional expertise to help shape a culturally strong and inclusive workplace.

You'll be great in this role if you have:

  • Experience designing and delivering employment or development programs that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and the ongoing impacts of colonisation.
  • Confidence in leading projects, making plans, and seeing them through - with the ability to juggle priorities and solve problems along the way.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, including delivering presentations and facilitating workshops.
  • Great communication and relationship-building skills, including with government, community, and other partners.
  • A willingness to travel interstate from time to time.
