The General Manager Engagement leads the HCQ engagement team and manages our day-to-day engagement, advocacy and policy work as well as contributing to key strategic initiatives. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead the HCQ engagement team
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive consumer consultation and engagement programs aligned with HCQ objectives, overseeing their design, execution and evaluation and ensuring coherence across various initiatives
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including Queensland Health and Hospital and Health Services as well as other organisations across the health service system
  • Create opportunities for collaboration and innovative initiatives within the health sector in alignment with HCQ’s objectives
  • Lead the development and implementation of HCQ advocacy and policy initiatives
  • Lead the internal research and analysis of relevant health policies, regulations and legislation that impacts health consumers and HCQ’s objectives
  • Contribute to whole of HCQ evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities

ABOUT YOU

  • You have senior leadership experience with the ability to establish and build effective stakeholder relationships
  • You have a sound understanding of health justice
  • You have well developed policy skills
  • Along with your experience in consumer and community engagement you will also have a strong operational background with the demonstrated ability to deliver on key programs of work
  • You are able to demonstrate excellent written communication skills and experience in writing briefs and reports and correspondence for internal and external audiences, consistently presenting advice in a clear, concise, and articulate manner
  • Being a collaborative leader, your will be comfortable working alongside the team to get things done
  • Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with HCQ's values and creates a healthy, inclusive team culture

The priority focus for this role is on leadership of HCQ's engagement activities that influence and lead improvements to deliver better health outcomes for all Queenslanders. This is achieved through our Queensland-wide health consumer network, tailored training and skills development programs, provision of strategic advice, consulting services and by maximising opportunities for consumer needs to be represented at all levels of the health system.
