Hawthorn Early Years (HEY) is a 155-place, not-for-profit, community-based early childhood service offering long day care and kindergarten programs. Located within the Boroondara – Hawthorn Community Precinct, HEY has strong ties to the local community and provides education and care for up to 155 children each day.

HEY is supported by a robust leadership and management team—including a Centre Manager, two Educational Leaders, a Business Manager, and three administrative staff—ensuring smooth daily operations. This structure enables our Head of Early Years to focus on strategic leadership and continuous improvement, reinforcing our commitment to delivering the highest standards of early childhood education and care.
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Early Years to steer our sector-leading early years program and service. This role is pivotal in enhancing the experiences of children, families, staff, board members, and the community. We seek a candidate with extensive experience in managing early childhood education services and driving sector-leading educational and care programs. You will champion HEY’s culture of evidence-based, best practice and advocate for our community and philosophy.
