Hawthorn Community House is a well-established neighbourhood house in the heart of Hawthorn and we are looking for an experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our small, highly motivated team.

This role will work closely with the Neighbourhood House Coordinator to develop the community house as a welcoming and inclusive space that provides programs and events to meet the needs of the local community and encourage community participation. This position will play a key role in building productive relationships/partnerships within the local area, including local service providers such as schools, businesses and Glenferrie Traders.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY INCLUDE:

• Working with the Neighbourhood House Coordinator to ensure the successful delivery of the Neighbourhood House program, and support the day-to-day operations of the Neighbourhood House.
• Working with the Neighbourhood House Coordinator to develop marketing material, including updating social media.
• Support and develop productive relationships/partnerships with community groups, organisations and businesses within the local area.
• Support and develop new initiatives and events which meet community need, and promote and encourage access and participation in the Community House
• Manage all regular and ad hoc room hiring and support local community groups to have access to suitable meeting rooms and spaces
