THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a dedicated Client Care Specialist to join our team. You will play a crucial role in assisting families and individuals who are homeless or about to become homeless through initial assessment and planning to obtain adequate accommodation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a first point of entry for clients, ensure a positive, welcoming, safe and friendly interaction
  • Undertake crisis intervention and assessment of customers both face to face and over the phone
  • Provide advice in relation to a range of supports offered within the community
  • Implement client strength and solutions-based interventions within appropriate assessments, planning and review procedures
  • Perform support functions such as respond to Intake emails, triage presenting clients,
  • Assessments/appointments, interim response support and clients awaiting case management
  • Respond to HHS emails and enquiries in a prompt manner and record data as required
  • Accurately and professionally record customer details, assistance (including brokerage) provided in the Client Management System and other applicable data systems
  • Participate in collaborative arrangements within the homelessness service sector

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A formal qualification in related disciplines such as Social Work, Welfare, Social Sciences or other relevant
  • Qualifications (highly desirable) or significant experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated experience in a dynamic social service setting servicing clients and/or experience working with
  • Homeless individuals and families or people experiencing housing crisis
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly multi-skilled team environment to deliver quality customer services.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including demonstrated sensitivity to cultural
  • Awareness and needs of clients
  • Ability to work with limited direction and accept a high level of personal responsibility
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management databases
